When Can We File?

There has been some ambiguous information with regard to this year's Tax filing season. A couple of questions that have been circling are, "How do the new Tax Laws affect me?" The other question, and an ironic unlikely one (I love irony), is "When can we file?" To answer the first question, there is little likelihood of the new Tax Laws affecting those who file a straight 1040, or a 1040EZ. It depends on the credits each individual Taxpayer is seeking. For more information on how you may be affected you can contact your personal Tax Preparation Agent, visit IRS.GOV, post them here, or contact me directly and I would be happy to help answer your questions.

To address the second question, "When can we file?" the IRS will start to process Tax Returns on January 30, 2013. You are encouraged to e-file, but the IRS is still updating its system so if you have your Income Tax Return prepared at a big chain, understand that your Tax Return will "lay in waiting" until the January 30, 2013 date.
